Last week school partnered up with a few local companies to start some training courses that will give us real world experience in the field. They are calling it a “training-to-hire” program. It’s a mix between an internship and a mentorship/apprenticeship. It’s a 6 month program that will have us working with real teams, on real projects, for real companies. After 6 months we might be offered a full time position as a direct hire. Even if I am not given a position I can still add this experience to my resume.
Before being accepted we have to do a few online training courses. So they also set us up with cloud academy accounts. Along with those training courses they are allowing us to pursue any topic or area of interest that appeals to us and will even pay for us to take certifications. For now I am going to start doing these online courses and then start looking into cyber security courses asap.
I’m very happy school opened up these opportunities for us. It was the break I needed. After spending a few months job hunting to get no interviews I was starting to feel demotivated.
Once I am done with these courses I am going to be moving back home. One of the 2 possible opportunities requires me to be back home to do the training. That company just opened an office nearby and would want us to relocate to do in office work. It’s kinda dumb, but I’d be more dumb to turn down such an opportunity. I’m thinking I’ll start heading back home on the 7th. To avoid paying for hotels I’m going to try to make plans to stop to visit a few friends along the way. So I don’t know when exactly I will arrive home.
I am making this announcement because once I am back home I will be able to start streaming and making content again. Especially since these opportunities are pretty much set in stone for me. I just have to complete these online courses first
Once I start with one of these companies things might become a little tricky as far as content creation goes. I’m going to need to dedicate a lot of time into these programs to be considered for a position once the training timeline is done. So I likely won’t have time to work on LCM stuff.
My priorities would be:
- Stream once a week.
- Work on and develop the new website.
- Write and record hypnosis scrips then have testers review the files.
I won’t be able to get to any holiday themed stuff again this year. I’m so sorry life for me has been so inconsistent. First school, then the storm, now these training opportunities. It’s all for the better though. I need to start my career and I hope you all can understand that.
Just remember this is only temporary and once I feel I have enough professional experience I am going to try for a full remote position. That should hopefully free up a lot of time to work on more LCM stuff.
Be patient for me and with me. I promise it will be worth it.
